This July we went to downtown Denver to feature one of our favorite stores, Blush.  This store may be on the smaller side when it comes to square footage, but these ladies curate an assortment of chic yet causal clothes that make us covet everything when we go in.  Thank you to Casey for her responses- she never disappoints!

  • How would you describe your store? BLUSH is a mix of contemporary designer clothing and accessories. We personally pick every item in the store to curate what we think is the perfect mix of day to day essentials as well as on trend looks.
  • How long have you been in business? – 12 1/2 years !?
  • Do you have a favorite line?  Is there a new line we should all keep an eye open for? For clothing: we love the line CLOSED out of Germany. It is totally our store – specialty pieces that you can dress up or down and great denim. For jewelry: BLOOM of course!! Be on the look out for denim from Citizens Of Humanity. They have been around a long, long time but they are really amazing things with their denim. They are great at offering new and unique styles that you don’t already have in your closet.
  • What is the one accessory you can’t live without? Chan Luu scarves
  • What styling advise do you share with all your customers? If you are not comfortable don’t wear it.
  • What has surprised you the most after you opened your store? How much hard work buying is. Most people think it is very “glamorous” but the truth is it’s is days and days of making decisions, crunching numbers and hoping you don’t buy the “wrong” thing.
  • Do you have any tips on balancing work & family/marriage? – When you are at work focus on work. When you are at home be present at home.
  • What book is on the top of your summer reading list? Eric Ripert’s 32 Yolks
  • Any vacation plans?  What is your favorite vacation destination? I know this sounds crazy but we always go to Vegas for my Birthday in August. Yes it is hot… But that is what the pool is for! There are so many amazing restaurants, and a little gambling is never a bad thing;-) Favorite vacation destination… Yountville. It is this amazing little town between Napa and Sonoma.
  • Are you a minimalist packer or an over-packer?  Any packing suggestions for the rest of us? Definitely an over packer. Whenever I pack “minimalist” I wish I had brought whatever I chose to leave out!?! However if you “forget” something, you can always buy something else!!!
